How Librarians Leverage Open Journal Finder to Advance Open Access

Open access shouldn’t mean endless admin. For too many libraries, supporting researchers still involves piecing together spreadsheets, license clauses, and scattered lists. Open Journal Finder changes that—providing one clear, up-to-date source for checking journal eligibility under Read & Publish agreements, license terms, and coverage status. The result: less time chasing data, more time guiding researchers with confidence.

The ConsortiaManager Story: Danish Innovation Meets Global Library Needs

Nels Rune Jensen and Tejs Grevstad transformed a simple request from a Danish library consortium into the world's first comprehensive workflow platform for library consortia, now serving more than 65 consortia and their 12000 member libraries.

In early 2014, when the Danish Digital Library faced a reorganization crisis and couldn't access critical publisher agreement data, they unknowingly sparked the creation of an entirely new software category - ConsortiaManager. The founders' combined 30+ years of information industry expertise, spanning both publisher and subscription agent perspectives, positioned them uniquely to solve a problem that no one else had even attempted to address systematically.
